STOCKHOLM OLYMPIC STADIUM, SWEDEN, STOCKHOLM, 1996
Olympic stadium with service facilities and ecological program
Designing an Olympic Stadium for Stockholm is a paradox: how could we design a stadium that would serve the long-lasting functions for Stockholm, but could also function in a large-scale temporarily event like the Olympic Games? A stadium for 70.000 people is too large for a city like Stockholm; therefore our stadium has 2 parts: The first part is carved out of an artificial hill, popular in wintertime for skiing, and incorperates all the long-term facilities. The second part is the temporarily tribune. This structure can be dismantled after the games and transformed into an indoor sport hall.

The Stadium will stimulate outdoor sports during all 4 seasons and will be the gate towards the surrounding National Park. Our mission is to integrate the games into the landscape, just like Olympia and Delphi.
