OMA co-founder Rem Koolhaas has been awarded the Golden Lion for Lifetime Achievement at the 2010 Venice Architecture Biennale (opening on 29 August). Kazuyo Sejima, curator of this year's biennale, made the nomination, approved by the Biennale chairman Paolo Baratta. Previous winners include James S. Ackerman and Richard Rogers. OMA is participating in this year's Biennale with an installation on the theme of preservation. See the Biennale's announcement
