Senior Architect – New York


OMA’s New York office is looking for a Senior Architect with conceptual design talent  and extensive building experience. Candidates should have a commitment to providing high quality, award winning design services for residential, cultural and urban design clients, with experience working both within the USA and internationally. In addition, candidates should have experience that demonstrates the capability to build client relationships, lead and mentor  a team, and achieve successful results with a high level of quality.
The Senior Architect will be responsible for all conceptual and technical phases of projects and for coordination and collaboration of  the design team. The candidate will work directly with the Partner in charge and manage all phases of design, coordinate work with all consultants, hold meetings and presentations, and represent the office to multiple clients.


Requirements:
- Bilingual (English/ French) is essential
- Masters Degree in Architecture;
- 8 years minimum proven experience in internationally renowned offices
- Superb conceptual and design talent
- Highly developed skills in client communications, contract documentation, project scheduling, team leadership, building design, technical detailing, consultant coordination, construction administration
- Thorough knowledge and experience with codes, Building Departments, Review Boards, and other regulatory agencies

OMA's New York is looking for an architect/ designer for a number of residential, cultural and urban design projects in early design phases. You will work as a team member, able to create powerful new ideas both in collaboration and independently. Due to the international nature of our office, we are seeking a wide range of qualified applicants, including those from outside the US. Junior Business Developer - Rotterdam (NL)

The OMA/AMO Business Development (BD) team, located in the main office in Rotterdam is responsible for actively developing, acquiring and assessing potential projects worldwide, conducting market research and following up on market opportunities for all OMA’s offices.

The BD team is currently looking for a Junior Business Developer with a theoretical background in architecture, excellent graphic skills and experience in the commercial aspect of architectural practice.

In this position you will:
- Support the Business Development Manager in proactively researching and developing new business opportunities for the office;
- Work with OMA Team Leaders and the Business Development Manager in compiling marketing material in support of new acquisitions and opportunities;
- Report on and maintain records of business development activities;
- Support the BD team in reporting on acquisitions in process, updating and compiling marketing material and developing the global OMA contacts data base;
- Supporting the BD team in providing analysis reports, statistics and overviews as regards new markets and OMA acquisitions in any given quarter.

Requirements of the role:

- Degree in Architecture or related studies ensuring the ability to understand design intentions and project requirements

- 2 Years professional experience in the business of architecture, construction or other which demonstrates knowledge of both the acquisition of building projects and the design and construction process

Head of Business Development - Rotterdam

Senior PR Officer - Rotterdam

OMA's Public Relations department is responsible for worldwide external communications, press liaison, publications and exhibitions, events and lectures, marketing material, the web presence and the OMA archive collection. The Senior PR Officer will proactively assist the Communications Director in forming and implementing OMA’s communications strategy. The Senior PR Officer is responsible on a day-to-day basis for handling media enquiries and invitations in close collaboration with the OMA partners, providing research materials for team leaders, and ensuring that OMA is plugged into the world’s media. You report to the Communications Director.

Receptionist - Rotterdam
The OMA Reception, located in the main office in Rotterdam is responsible for receiving guests, incoming correspondence (telephone, fax, email, mail and packages). The reception has an opening for a part-time receptionist (9 hours per week).

In this position you will:
- be receiving guests;
- be distributing incoming communication (telephone, fax, email, mail and packages);
- preparing outgoing mail and packages;
- arrange access to the office;
- be trained for inhouse emergency and First Aid service (Bedrijfshulpverlening) and taking the role as Head of the emergency and First Aid team (Hoofd BHV).
- Assisting with Facility processes, i.e. making and following up on orders for office supplies, setting up and maintaining office access key plan;

Model Shop Internship - Rotterdam 

OMA is seeking an intern for the model shop. As well as handcraft machines, the model shop is equipped with 3D-printing and laser cutting machines which produce design and presentation models 24/7. In this position you will assist the model shop supervisor in constructing complicated models, providing necessary know-how to architects, and scheduling jobs so models are produced in an efficient and timely manner. You will operate the machines daily (working in shifts if necessary) under strict safety protocols, and ensure they are in proper working order. You will assist in ordering materials, tools and other supplies. This position offers an opportunity to make significant contributions to the success of the designs.

Human Resources Internship - Rotterdam
Within the Human Resources department, located in the Rotterdam office there is an opening for an internship.
The HR department is responsible for recruitment, selection, employee benefits, salary administration, health and safety and expatriate procedures.

Archive Internship - Rotterdam

OMA-Rotterdam has openings for Interns seeking to gain an overview and a working knowledge of the infrastructure and day-to-day running of the archive and collection of a leading creative office, the collection holds around 80% of the work of OMA and Rem Koolhaas from 1975 onwards. The archive collection consists of a 700 m2 space with a wide variety of materials like paintings, collages, samples, study and presentation models. A wide range of  paperwork is also part of the collection and frequently used for research. The main task is archiving, extra tasks are work on exhibitions, research, communication with international art institutions and work on publications. Candidates must not be scared of dust and sometimes physical labour. You must be capable to work accuratly in a creative, adhoc environment, and have a hands-on approach.
The internship will be guided by an experienced in-house archivist.

Further requirements:
- MS Office skills
- Valid driving license a plus
- Fluent in English with excellent grammar (Dutch or any second language desirable)
- European work permit.

This position is located in OMA`s headquarter in Rotterdam. Successful candidates will receive a monthly stipend.
